Home Sweet Tiny Home… Almost

Now that we have our own home to live in,  it should be time to move our most necessary belongings to our home and settle in. Though this seems straight forward, it unfortunately is not. If money were not an obstacle, I would love to own a decent sized property for our Tiny House and others alike. Our city’s restrictions, categorizations and lack of codes have made others and ourselves weary of “dwelling” in general. Whether we are to have our own property or rent on another’s, the issues still apply. I have become aware of other Tiny House builders in my own community that are mostly in the same situation as Nick and I are now. (see light at the end of the tunnel blog post.) I have recently been thinking about alternatives Nick and I would have had to choose from regarding affordable housing in our community, and there are few that come to mind. Tiny houses could be a great solution, or at least a suggestion for affordable housing in our area. There may not be much to be done or to advocate for, but my upcoming efforts will hopefully be helpful to Tiny Houser’s in the future. I am hoping to get our story out to our local Bainbridge Review newspaper and shed light on the codes that need to be written and the growing movement of Tiny Homes in our local area.
