This blog is about our progress, successes and struggles during our Tiny House build. I want to write about what the experience has really been like, what a Tiny House is, and why we chose to do it.
We are just starting on the window flashing, cedar tongue and groove siding and now the window trim. For the trim we wanted a basic look and decided to do 45º angles. Cedar tongue and groove siding is good quality but pricey from Home Depot so it’s best to find somewhere with cheaper cedar and price compare it with Home Depot. We also did a price compare with metal roofing and got it a little cheaper. We have all the windows on, but not the door, metal roofing, plumbing or electrical yet. We just received our 6.6 cu ft. Atwood RV fridge/freezer from Ebay today and it’s such a cute and perfect size! Atwood brand is usually pricey at most RV supply places and I found the cheapest prices for both our fridge and oven/range on Ebay. We chose not to do complete sheathing on the outside and just do strips on the studs. It’s pricey to do the whole exterior in sheathing and not necessary if you put it on the entire interior (as walls). Pictures from the last few months to the most recent pictures of where it is at right now!
